Dear Parents,

I have been privileged to teach young children as my career and passion for over three decades. My experience in teaching first grade, kindergarten and PreK-4 have given me a keen awareness of what children need to know in order to get a meaningful head start in their early formal education.

I have been blessed to be able to teach at a private Christian school for the last 8 years after retiring from public education. My students have responded exceptionally well and have had fun learning at an accelerated pace.

My regular school year PreK-4 classes begin a kindergarten curriculum from day one. We complete the academic portion of kindergarten (phonics, reading, punctuation and math) by Christmas break. The second half of the school year we begin first grade work. We continue the emphasis on fine motor skills for writing that is determined by their individual neurological development.

I am excited to have the opportunity to teach this summer kindergarten readiness program for the children in our community. After increasing requests over recent years to evaluate and tutor students prior to entering kindergarten, it became apparent to me that there is a desire for parents to absolutely know that their children are ready academically and socially to begin their formal education. It was this revelation that led me to create this summer program.

This class is not designed to be a daycare program with a learning

component, but rather an advanced educational opportunity to make

sure your child is ready to excel in the coming year. We all like to do

the things we are good at. My goal is to make sure your child is prepared

academically and socially while instilling a love of learning. We constantly

reinforce the “Golden Rule” in a Christian environment.

Studies reinforce the value of education before kindergarten. The data

is overwhelming. Please see the letter from Dr. Judy Tran, Columbia

University, regarding this subject and my teaching methods

We meet each child where they are and advance them from that point. Our class is taught in large groups, small groups and one on one. My teaching assistant is a real asset and loves children as much as I do.

Thanks for your interest in this educational program. We will work hard to make it a wonderful summer of learning for your child. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Nancy Bryan
